Welcome to Seabriar

A Guide to the Town Featured in the Iris Blackwood Mysteries

Welcome to Seabriar, a quiet harbor town tucked along the rugged coast of the Pacific Northwest.

With its misty waterfront, historic buildings, and tight-knit community, Seabriar might seem like the kind of place where nothing unusual ever happens. But beneath the charm and sea air, the town has a long memory—and more than a few secrets.

Many of the places you’ll encounter in The Iris Blackwood Mysteries can be found here. From the cozy aisles of Blackwood Books to the quiet halls of the local library, each location holds its own piece of Seabriar’s story.

Explore the places where Iris Blackwood’s mysteries begin.

Blackwood Books

An old bookshop near the harbor that has been in the Blackwood family for generations. Iris lives in the apartment above the shop and spends most of her days surrounded by rare books, curious visitors, and the occasional mystery that refuses to stay buried.

Harry’s Coffee Shop & Café

Located right next door to Blackwood Books, Harry’s is a favorite stop for locals looking for a good cup of coffee and conversation. Many readers settle into the bookshop’s chairs with a cup from Harry’s in hand.

Seabriar Public Library

Headed by librarian Merry, the town’s library holds more than just ordinary books. Its archives and special collections often prove invaluable when Iris is searching for answers hidden in Seabriar’s past.

Seabriar Convention Hall

A large waterfront venue used for festivals, conferences, and town events. During The Inheritance Killer, it becomes the site of a gathering that turns far more dangerous than anyone expected.

Thorne Community Center

Located on Main Street, this community building hosts town meetings, events, and council discussions. Felix Thorne also maintains an office here.

Seabriar Harbor

The heart of the town’s waterfront, where fishing boats come and go and sea mist drifts in from the Pacific.

Seabriar Historical Center

The organization responsible for preserving Seabriar’s history and maintaining records of the town’s past.
